WALNUT CREEK -- In order to better inform the public on the spending spree of the Walnut Creek City Council over the past 10 years, candidate for City Council Justin Wedel has launched a webpage to highlight the details of the Council's poor management of the city's financial resources.
To build public awareness about the city's deteriorating fiscal situation, Wedel launched a new section of his website entitled Walnut Creek Report It can be viewed at www.justinwedel.com/wcr.htm . This new section utilizes reports provided directly from city staff and data collected from the dity's publicly accessible website.

One challenger in the Walnut Creek City Council election race said the city has been on a "spending spree" in recent years -- citing what he said is an overly extravagant new library, in particular -- making it harder for Walnut Creek to provide basic services.
"We can no longer continue to blame our problems on the global economy," said Justin Wedel, who owns an IT business, at a Friday morning candidate forum sponsored by the Walnut Creek Chamber of Commerce.
At the same forum that attracted about 60 guests, Wedel also described the council as "broken," and that small business owners are "dismissed by the council unless you agree with their agenda."
